A monologue written with Sweeney Todd as its stimulus, for a narrative horror devised performance, entitled 'Roses'.

Hello Margery. Do sit down. Just sit down...and relax. Simply enjoy the experience. Oh, gosh, what lovely long hair you have! So coarse and exuberant, voluminous...and as pitch black as the dead of night.

Now my dearest Margery, let’s get down to business. Whilst I’m aware that you asked for only a subtle trim, your good friend Sweeney was thinking of a more...radical transformation. The ‘avante grade’ of all coiffures. An opportunity for me to show off my artistic license, let’s say...

A monologue devised for the post-dramatic performance 'Lost in the Rain', abstracting the character of Maggie.

You make me feel so so special. You’re one of those. You’re one of those people who will change my life. I feel better just having you sitting there looking at me. I want to be just like you one day. When you speak to me, I get these little butterflies inside of me. Just your voice. Or look. Or when you give me a look. I can’t quite believe that I’ve managed to meet someone like you. That I, have the privilege of knowing you. You’re amazing...

1996

March 2016

A monologue created for the devised piece 'REvolution'- here Christy, the third generation of the Livingstone's, talks about the year she made the biggest mistake of her life.

1996, eh. What a year that's been. Charles and Di split up, Take That split up, Dunblane...and it's the year I messed up my whole life.

I went to this festival in the summer right, Glastonbudget, which is kinda what you expect it to be, Glastonbury, but on a budget. I'd been looking forward to it ALL YEAR. I went with about 8 or 9 boys, which mum loved, obviously... But I didn't really have any girl friends at that point. I guess...they were all I really had...
