About Grace

Grace Bottrill is a creative writer based in the East Midlands, United Kingdom. She is available to write television scripts, stage plays, spoken word poetry or stand alone monologues for performances and festivals across the country.

Grace began writing short poems and monologues whilst studying AS Performing Arts, Drama, Textiles and English Literature at college, transferring to devised pieces and full length play texts in A2. Her first devised monologue, 1996, and her first full length play, Signals, kickstarted her venture into the writing industry.

At De Montfort University, Grace learnt more about the world of contemporary performing arts practice, and using technology and media to enhance devised works. It was here that she began to consider the undertones and deeper meanings of her pieces, inspiring her to create a darker, more cryptic script for television, entitled pools, currently awaiting completion.

Grace's compositions put the feminine voice at their heart, and consistently explore issues in society throughout the decades in Great Britain.
